​On October 16th, PSEA’s Central Region President and PACE guest speaker, Del Fuller, presented to us. We learned about the structure of the NEA, PSEA, and SPSEA, as well as importance of teachers’ unions. Thank you Del!

Jess Porter
On October 23rd, 3rd grade teacher, political activist, and social media influencer Jess Porter presented to us. We learned about mindfulness in the classroom, political advocacy, and the importance of teachers’ unions. Thank you Jess! Additionally, we had the amazing opportunity to collaborate with Mansfield University; we hosted 4 of their SPSEA members for this event over zoom.
Dr. Chris Clayton
On November 27th, PSEA’s Director of Education Services, Dr. Chris Clayton, presented to us. We learned about the role of Artificial Intelligence in education for both educators and students, as well as how technology and teaching will continue to evolve together.
On February 2nd, Dr. Chris Clayton returned to PSU and presented to us about what every pre-professional educator should know as they transition from college to career. Thank you Dr. Chris Clayton for your continued support!
PSEA Political Institute 2024
From January 12th through 14th, 2024, 6 members attended the 2024 PSEA Political Institute in Harrisburg. We learned so much about logistics and dynamics of US politics and elections, the role of aspiring educators in politics, and the role of PACE!
Pizza & PEARL
On September 26th, 19 members joined in our first ever Pizza X PEARL night, where we all participated in the PEARL webinar: “Toolkit: Resources for New and Early Career Educators.” The webinar and our guided discussion throughout provided an excellent opportunity to develop leadership and pre-professional skills!
State Conference 2023
18 members attended the State Student PSEA conference last year in Hershey. We had a wonderful time developing leadership skills and learning about our futures as aspiring educators, and can’t wait for State Conference 2024 in Lancaster, PA!

NEA RA and HOD 2023
Katherine Weller, our FR chair, Zone 1 director for the NEA Aspiring Educator's Caucus, and HOD Representative for Central Region SPSEA, traveled to the NEA RA and HOD in 2023!
