Community Service 2023-24

Discovery Space

On September 30th, we collaborated with Discovery Space on North Atherton, gaining the opportunity to work in the Rivets Workshop, with students ranging from ages 8 to 14. With the kids, we built plastic bag parachutes and balloon cars, making both creations out of recycled materials. While the students were working on the projects, members had the opportunity watch the kids build and take different approaches to the building process, allowing creative freedom to flourish.

On December 4th, we hosted our first ever “Crafts and Cocoa.” This event, where participants could make crafts together and enjoy hot chocolate, helped in our efforts to raise money for THON.

Stickers and Succulents Sales

Throughout the 2023-2024 school year, we have raised money for THON through selling stickers and succulents to on-campus students and general members. The fantastic PSU SPSEA stickers are made by our DAR chair, Emma Patane.
